Witch Dinner
Flying Saucers
Easy to make. You can use mashed potatoes and cheese as I did, or anything you like.
Just make a hole in one of the foil tart pans for the alien's head. He needs protection from flying space debris, and using the shot glass gives him protection and also a 360 degree view.
Carve a little face in the hot dog and you're done. You can also use little candy eyes from the baking department and stick then in the eyeholes. I should have, but I ran out of time.

Mom's Alien Punch
Mom used to make this punch for parties when we were kids.
Ingredients:
2 liters ginger ale. (Can substitute 7-up)
Hawaiian Punch Green Berry Rush Jug**
1/2 gallon rainbow sherbet
canned pear halves
fruit coctail optional
**I can only find this flavor in the gallon size. I used about 2/3 of the jug. I wanted the green because it was alien, and it tastes better than the red flavors in the punch, but you can use your favorite.
Mix the ginger ale and Hawaiian Punch in your punch bowl. Top with scoops of sherbet. The sherbet will float on top.
To make Alien punch, use canned pears that are sliced in half. The thinner end will be the chin and the wider end will be the head. Use a knife to cut a small mouth and alien eyes. Using little tart pans like we used for the flying saucers, place one pear in the pan and fill with water and freeze. Add them to your punch. You can add some of the pear juice to the punch. You also can add a can of fruit cocktail, but this is optional. Mom used to do it, but I don't think it's really needed here because of the pears. You only need three or four alien faces, and you can cut up any extras and throw them in.
If you are not making the alien head ice, I suggest making some ice cubes out of the extra Hawaiian Punch to keep the alien punch cold.

Dia De Los Muertos
Cempasúchils - The cempasúchil is the official flower associated with Día de Muertos. The bright color and scent are supposed to attrach the dead to the alter.
For the arch - I attached two pool noodles together at the ends with duct tape. I bought cheap plastic orange tablecloths. Wrapped one of the tablecloths around the noodles and taped it. Then attached the flowers to it. I made the flowers with short stems to they could be taped. I used three shades of yellow/orange for my flowers. The arch was attached by cach end to the back of the table, but I also used a string. I attached one end to the top of the arch and thumb tacked the other end to the wall to keep it upright. A second orange tableloth was hung behind it, and a third was used to cover the table.
Here's where to get the paper and stems I used. Click to get it. You will need alot of tissue if you make the same sice ofrenda. You wont realize how many it takes to make it look good until you start putting it together.

First make the walls by laying dows graham crackers the side you want your four walls to be. Melt chocolare candy discs and spread over one side of the crackers, making sire you cover the seams where crackers are next to each other.
When the outside walls are hard, turn over. Have toyr marchmallows already cut in half. Spread the chocolate over the crackers like pefore, but place the marshmallows on thile it is still melted. Wait for it to harden.
When your 4 walls are hard, you can attach them using more chocolare for cement. You will have to hold the walls in place til it starts to harden.
Floor and roof optional. Made th same was the walls were made.
My patient was actually a Harry Houdini action figure that I already had, so luckily I had a guy with the jacket and cuffs already available. You can use any figure you want.
My figure is still available but he got expensive cuz he is from 2013, but I guess if you are in the rubber room you wouldnt really need a stright jacket anyway. Or maybe just wrap rote figure in fabric strips if you want one.
He is still available on Amazon if you want him.

Piggy Noses, Tails, and Beans
Very easy to make and kids will love it. All uo have to do is make holes in sliced hot dogs. I used a plastic ctraw and poked each nose. Ease Peasy. I jut strips for the tails, but I figured out a better way after I was finished, so I will do it next time. Just slise the hotdog tails a little longer and boil them for a while before adding them to the beand. If you slice the ehole don lengthwise in quarters they will curl up when boiles like a piggy tail. I did this for another recipe and it works. I think these noses could have been a little thicker too. I will definitely try again.
Breaded Fried Bats
For these bats, all you need is chicken wings, flour, eggs, bread crumbs, cheese and olives. Put two wings together as they are in the photo. Attach them with a wooden skewer. Cover with flour, dip in egg, then in breadcrumbs. You can fry or put in oven. The eyes are put n after they are cooked. Eyes are a circle cut from a slice of cheese and a circle cut from olive.
